Charles W. Hall
In 1906, Charles Hall earned his law degree from the University of Washington and returned to Vancouver to practice law. Hall quickly became a respected attorney and judge, serving on the bench for many years. He also contributed to public service, holding two terms as a State Representative and two terms as a State Senator.
A Family Legacy
Ned Hall
Charles Hall’s son, Ned Hall, also graduated from the University of Washington Law School. After serving in the Navy during World War II, Ned returned to join his father’s practice. Over a career spanning more than 50 years, Ned became a well-respected attorney and businessman, continuing the family tradition of excellence in law.
Expanding the Firm
Jim Holland, Sr.
In 1973, Ned Hall recruited Jim Holland, Sr., and the firm became Hall & Holland. Jim Sr. has devoted over forty years to providing clients throughout Washington with creative and effective legal solutions. Originally a plaintiff’s trial lawyer, he has successfully tried countless personal injury cases, including wrongful death, products liability, negligent highway design, and other complex personal injury claims.

Jim Holland, Jr.
Jim Holland, Jr. joined the firm as Managing Partner in 2014, continuing the Holland Law Group’s century-long legacy of service. Based in Mercer Island, Jim Jr. is accessible to clients across Seattle, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Redmond, Issaquah, Renton, and beyond.
Bringing over 14 years of experience, Jim Jr. has previously worked at Perkins Coie in Seattle, served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in King County, and collaborated with his father in Vancouver. He has tried more than 30 criminal and civil cases to verdict, earning recognition from peers as lead trial counsel on complex matters.
