Meet Attorney Jim Holland

Jim Holland Jr. is a seasoned trial lawyer with extensive experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, and civil litigation. Joining Holland Law Group as Managing Partner in 2014, he continues the firm’s legacy of over 100 years of dedicated client advocacy throughout Washington State, including Seattle, Mercer Island, Bellevue, Tacoma, and Vancouver.

Professional Background

Education & Early Career

Jim earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Willamette University College of Law in 2002, where he served as Articles Editor for the Willamette Law Review. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington (1999).

Before joining Holland Law Group, Jim gained extensive trial experience working at Perkins Coie LLP in product liability litigation, serving as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in King County, and practicing at several personal injury and medical malpractice law firms.

Jim has tried more than thirty criminal and civil cases to verdict, earning a reputation among peers as a lead trial counsel on complex cases. His notable successes include:

  • $14M premises liability settlement against medical facility for quadriplegia resulting in death.
  • $10M judgment in Lee v. Duke, a wrongful death case for a 17-year-old girl.
  • $8.7M settlement against school district for brain injury caused at middle school track meet.

Jim’s strategic approach combines meticulous case preparation, expert collaboration, and tenacious courtroom advocacy to secure fair and full compensation for his clients.

Jim is a devoted husband to Tiffany and father to two daughters, Kate and Julia. He enjoys fly-fishing—holding a world record tarpon catch—flying as an FAA-certified private pilot, and exploring the outdoors, including African safaris and research expeditions. He is also the proud owner of a spirited beagle named Flash.
